Products formulated to prevent and/or correct micronutrient deficiencies.
The term “micro” refers to the fact that they are needed in small quantities, yet they are extremely important because they regulate the metabolic processes essential for plant growth.
The essential micronutrients for crops are:
- Iron (Fe)
- Manganese (Mn)
- Zinc (Zn)
- Boron (B)
- Copper (Cu)
- Molybdenum (Mo)
Causes of microelement deficiencies in crops.
- The microelement needed is found in the soil in the form of insoluble salt, which means it cannot be absorbed by the plant.
- The presence of another microelement limits the activity of the desired micronutrient.
- Unfavourable pH conditions in the substrate can restrict the plant’s absorption of micronutrients.
