OligoActiv comprises a range of products aimed at comprehensively combating nutrient deficiencies in crops. These products are composed of different combinations of what are termed oligoelements or micronutrients in fertilisation.

Micronutrients are essential elements for plant survival and they are found in the soil. The intensification of crops means that these elements must be provided. The term “micro” is due to the fact that they are needed in small quantities, but they are extremely important because they regulate the essential metabolic processes for plant growth.

Specifically, there are 7 oligoelements required in plant nutrition:

  • Iron (Fe)
  • Manganese (Mn)
  • Zinc (Zn)
  • Boron (B)
  • Copper (Cu)
  • Molybdenum (Mo)
  • Chlorine (Cl)

Those that really need to be supplied are the first 6, because Chlorine (Cl) is present in the form of chloride in sufficient quantities in irrigation water. Micronutrients can be supplied both in the irrigation water or as a foliar application, because they are assimilated both by the roots and the leaves.

OligoActiv is a multiple deficiency corrector with a nutrient concentration adapted to the physiological demand of plants, with w/v concentrations similar to those of solids, permitting the easy handling of the liquids and providing the microelements in forms which are easy for plants to assimilate (chelates). Their slightly acidic pH makes them ideal for root application, as well as improving irrigation with hard water.
